Gardai are appealing for witnesses to an attempted robbery at a credit union in the city.
It happened yesterday afternoon on the Togher Road at around 2:30pm when a man entered the building with a hatchet and a hammer.
He threatened staff and demanded money but left empty handed on a bicycle.
No one was injured.
