An elderly woman in her 60's has died in a house fire on the northside of the city.
Two units of Cork City fire brigade - one from Ballyvolane and one from Anglesea Street - responded to the blaze shortly before 9am this morning .
The fire broke out at a house at Barnavarra Crescent in Ballyvolane and the body of woman was found at the scene.
It's believed the woman was overcome by smoke and died of smoke inhalation
An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway
