Woman in serious condition after falling from a height in the city

Reports are emerging that a woman has fallen from a height in the city centre.

The alarm was raised around 8.30am and emergency services responded to reports that a woman had fallen from a roof or balcony from a property on Meade Street, just off Sullivan's Quay.

The Irish Examiner reports that the woman suffered multiple injuries and those injuries are said to be serious but not life threatening.

She was rushed by ambulance to Cork University Hospital for medical treatment.

Gardai have launched an investigation into the incident in order to ascertain the exact circumstances around it.
