Work is set to begin on a permanent CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) centre at Clonakilty Community Hospital within three to four weeks.
The HSE confirmed on Monday that sufficient funding had been allocated to complete the project that will see a CAMHS centre located at St David’s ward in Clonakilty Community Hospital.
When completed, west Cork will have two CAMHS centres, one in Clonakilty and the other in Dunmanway.
A temporarily CAMHS centre has been opened in Bandon while the work on Clonakilty’s St David’s ward is completed.
