A virtual event will take place between 1pm and 2pm today to highlight the importance of the day, particularly for young people in Ireland.

The event is being hosted by Spunout.ie who run a Youth Information Chat service for 16 to 25 year olds to allow them to get information and support from trained Youth Information Officers.

The fundraising event will see Sinead O’Carroll, editor of The Journal.ie join special guest Sophie White, author and podcaster for a discussion on minding your mental health, the importance of resilience and authenticity in the workplace.

The service hosted over 1,600 conversations in the first six months on the year.

Spunout say the pandemic has presented unique challenges for youth mental health, with more young people going online to seek support.
