'World of Work' is a Cork scheme that for the past fifteen years has provided students from Nagle Community College in Mahon with the opportunity to avail of work experience in the city.
The initiative also offers ‘Meet & Greet’ and ‘Day in the Life’ sessions and skills training to students in order to motivate them to stay in school and complete their leaving certificate.
Gas Networks Ireland is one of the sponsors of 'World of Work', and have subsequently volunteered with 500 Nagle Community College students, giving the teens a look into working life at the company.
The aim is that the students will be motivated after seeing what the world of work will be like after they complete their full time education.
