A young boy who was hit by a car while cycling in Carrigaline last Saturday has died in hospital.
He passed away last night
The boy was cycling his bike on the Cork Road into Carrigaline on Saturday the 12th of August when he was hit by a car at the Ballinrea round about.
It happened at around 20 past 9 in the morning and Gardaí and emergency services arrived to the scene shortly after.
The child was taken to Cork University Hospital and later transferred to Temple Street Children's Hospital in Dublin where he passed away yesterday.
Gardaí are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the collision to come forward.
Any road users who were travelling on the Cork Road near Carrigaline between 9 and 9.30 am on Saturday the 12th of August and has camera footage including dash cam is asked to make it available to Gardaí.
