As soon as he landed back in Dublin, Darragh O'Connor, of Deer Mount, Deerpark, in Cork city was arrested and charged with contempt of court
Frank Greaney is in Court for RedFM News:
"In late May, a teenage boy went on trial accused of producing a knife during a violent row that led to the death of Cameron Blair in Cork City last year. Darragh O'Connor was one of two witnesses who failed to show up to give evidence. The judge was told they were in Ayia Napa and the trial was put on hold for a few days before the prosecution eventually dropped the charge. Today Mr Justice David Kean described his contempt as blatant and premeditated and said it plainly disrupted the conduct of the trial. He accepted his apology and praised him for being so honest about his reason for not showing up, but he said it was important for a message to go out that failure to comply with a witness order cannot be tolerated. O'Connor who celebrated his 20th birthday in isolation at Clover Hill Prison last weekend was then handed a two month prison sentence. Frank Greaney, the Central Criminal Court.
