A young woman who lost her father in a collision almost a year ago says she doesn't want any family to experience the heartbreak her family have been through.
Lauren Burke's 65 year old father Derek died on the 11th of December and was one of 19 pedestrians killed on Irish roads in 2021.
Lauren was speaking at the launch of the Road Safety Authority's Christmas and New Year road safety appeal at University College Cork this morning.
The country's Roads Policing Units have also begun an intensive six-week enforcement campaign which will run this month and into the New Year.
