Cork’s business events sector is set to contribute €13m to the local economy.
The Cork Convention Bureau has submitted bids for 10 conferences here up until 2028.
Thousands of business delegates will spend an average of over €1,800 in hotels and restaurants while here for conferences.
Speaking to RedFM News, Evelyn O’Sullivan from Cork Convention Bureau says the secured events will provide a huge boost to the local economy:
"We've literally just signed off on 10 new bids to secure international events and conferences in 2026,2027 and even up to 2028 and if we secure this it's going to be worth €13m to the local economy in Cork."
