A third of Covid patients in hospital have never received a vaccine.
There are 981 people with the virus in hospitals today.
The HSE's chief clinical officer, Colm Henry, says the patients in hospital during July is a concern:
"The profile of people in hospitals who are testing positive for COVID, about half of those are sick with it. The other figure to look at is proportion of vaccinators what we see is just over half of them haven't received the booster and about a third never got vaccinated in the first place. So we're still seeing that people haven't been vaccinated or those who haven't received the booster disproportionately represented."
