Retail Excellence Ireland says it could cost the state almost €3 billion in welfare payments

Retail Excellence Ireland says it could cost the state almost €3 billion in welfare payments and lost tax revenue in a full year.

The organisation is recommending measures including the distribution of a €500 gift card to all Irish households and policies on rent and rates.
