2 Cork Tourists Stranded In Peru For 2 Weeks Are Due To Arrive Back In Cork This Evening

Their flight is due shortly after 6pm

Andrew Cotter from Mitchelstown and Marie Barry from Conna were forced into lockdown in a hostel in the city of Cuscu two days after arriving into the country after authorities imposed strict measures to slow the spread of Covid-19 in the country.

The couple spent 23 hours on a bus to get to the capital Lima and left Peru last night on a flight organised by the Department of Foreign Affairs.

Speaking to RedFM News from London's Heathrow Airport, Andrew Cotter from Mitchelstown says their biggest worry was being trapped in the country:
