265 New Cases Of Covid-19 In The Republic, Including 12 In Cork

There have been 6 further deaths reported today

24 counties have recorded new cases.

84 of today's cases are in Dublin, with 28 in Louth, 27 in Limerick, 19 in Donegal and 15 in both Wicklow and Galway.

The other 77 are spread across 18 other counties.

There are 232 Covid-19 patients in hospital with the virus, with 27 of them in intensive care.

14 people have been hospitalised with Covid in the past 24 hours.

Another six deaths have also been reported today.

The chief medical officer, Dr Tony Holohan, says coronavirus cases here are stable, but the situation is fragile.

He's asking people to stick to public health advice to keep the momentum going.

Meanwhile, 196 cases of Covid-19 were reported among healthcare workers last week.

The sector accounts for 16.5 per cent of all coronavirus cases here since the pandemic began.

A total of 12,022 healthcare workers have tested positive - and over three quarters are women.

Eight healthcare workers have died with the virus.
