3 Out Of 10 Irish People Working Overseas Still Planning On Coming Home For Christmas

That's according to a new poll by FRS Recruitment

Those in the UK, Europe and the Middle East say they're most likely to travel -- but far fewer from North America, Australia or New Zealand.

84% say they would have made the journey in a normal year.

FRS Recruitment commissioned the poll -- the firm's chief executive, Colin Donnery, says people are weighing up the situation where they are now.

"People there seem to see, you know, COVID and transport and travel as less of an issue, so I think that's one of the key reasons that we're seeing you know Irish people who are based as they're coming back, because it is in effect the same distance, you know, our time in the air from New York as it is from the Middle East, so it seems to be a perception based thing there, and obviously in the US, [they're] really having a challenging time with COVID compared to the Middle East.
