The school is on the northside of Cork City
St Luke's National School - which has just 80 pupils and a small teaching staff - has been in contact with all parents and staff members to let them know of the confirmed case of Covid-19.
The school's board of management has in constant contact with the HSE officials since the case came to light after testing was carried out yesterday.
