A Cork Car Dealership Says Although The Industry Has Been Hit Hard Due To Covid-19, Business Will Be Busy When Garages Reopen

Blackwater Motors employ 200 people at their four garages

They are in Skibbereen, Fermoy, Forge Hill and on the Bandon Road roundabout, and they anticipate they will have 60% of staff back on May 18th.

The remainder of staff are expected to return in a later phase of the Government's reopening plan.

Car dealerships are preparing for a shortage of new car plates and used imports as production and trade has been affected by the Covid-19 outbreak.

Speaking to RedFM News Director of Blackwater Motors David Quirke says the last six months of the year should be more positive for the industry however they will be busy from the minute they reopen:
