The €350 weekly pay for over half a million workers, made unemployed due to Covid-19, is due to expire on Monday.
It's one of the reasons why government spending is up 19% on what was planned, according to the latest exchequer figures.
They show a budget deficit of €6.1 billion for May, while tax revenues are UP 1.3% on the same month last year, due to an unexpected increase in corporation tax receipts.
