There was a short discussion about the issue of exiting level 5 Covid-19 restrictions at a cabinet this morning

NPHET are meeting tomorrow on the matter.

It's likely Ireland will move to level three restrictions next week with some changes.

It's expected restaurants will be allowed to open sometime later in December but wet pubs will remain closed.

In the Dáil Independent TD Richard O'Donoghue criticised the lack of notice being given to businesses, saying everyone needs a heads up:

'Even the children, all around the world, send their letter to Santa Claus in advance. Why? So it gives Santa Claus and Mrs Claus, and the elves, the due time, so they can have their presents for them on Christmas Day. Even the children around the world know this.'
