A Plan Is Needed To Encourage Businesses To Open Leeside

That's according to Cork Business Association.

CBA say that while current measures such as parking initiatives and a rates moratorium implemented to negate the negative effects of COVID19 are welcome more needs to be done.

At the beginning of the year Cork had one of the lowest commercial vacancy rates in the country at 11.7% however a number of high profile closures have affected this including the loss of Debenhams, Monsoon, Accessorize and Clarks on Patrick St.

Speaking to RedFM News Laurence Owens of CBA says some of the premises left vacant are too large for any one trader to take one, and innovation and support are needed:
