Restaurants, cafes and gastropubs reopened on Friday under Level 3 restrictions.

There are 456 new cases of Covid 19, including 13 here in Cork.

However, that figure is higher due to an IT glitch that led to a reduced number of cases reported in recent days.

DCU Professor of Health Systems, Anthony Staines says meeting too many people is a bad idea:

'This virus spreads like wildfire in crowded spaces, particularly indoors, and if you're indoors with a bunch of other people, you're placing yourself at some risk. You have to decide what risks you're willing to take, but remember you're taking those risks, not just for yourself, but for all those around you. And we really would ask people to be careful and stay being careful.'
