The review is being undertaken in the Cork/Kerry region
Currently partners of expectant mothers are only allowed to be present for a very short period of time during labour.
The issue was raised in the Dáil in recent weeks by Cork TD Holly Cairns who expressed concern about disparity across the country where these restrictions have been eased in many other hospitals but not here in Cork.
