The Taoiseach spoke about the coronavirus restrictions going forward
- Current restrictions will remain largely in place until May 18th.
- The 2km from home exercise limit has been increased to 5km from next Tuesday.
- Those cocooning are being advised to continue to do so, but can avail of the 5km alone from next Tuesday.
- From May 18th, Ireland will begin to re-open.
- Construction sites will re-open, some retailers such as garden centers will be allowed to re-open.
- Outdoor workers, including construction workers and gardeners will be able to return to work from May 18th.
- Schools/Colleges will re-open in September/October for the new academic year.
- The cabinet will meet tomorrow morning to discuss restarting the Irish economy and providing supports to facilitate re-opening businesses and reinstating jobs.
- The Taoiseach says a 5 stage plan has been put in place to return Ireland to normality by August 10th. That's 101 days during which the plan will be gradually put in place to combat.
