The Irish Examiner reports the move, which would involve the removal of parking spaces, follows the pedestrianisation of Princes Street to cater to a number of restaurants and bars.

A public consultation on proposals to close Castle Street, Cross Street, Liberty Street and Daunt Square will be launched in the next week and a half while on-street seating is also being considered for Caroline Street, Beasley Street and Union Quay.

City Hall also say 'more welcoming' street closure signage will be installed by the end of next week.
