An isolated island community are urging people thinking of visiting to stay away in an effort to ease the pressure on front line hospital staff.
Bere Island Projects Group have asked people to limit travel in and out of the island as much as possible to reduce the risk of infection spreading among the island's population.
Medical evacuations from islands around the coast can be very difficult and may require a coastguard helicopter, RNLI lifeboat crew or a trip on a ferry, potentially infecting anyone involved in the operation.
Speaking to RedFM News, John Walshe from Bere Island Projects Group says people have to heed the advice about unnecessary travel.
