A Cork campaigner with Better Maternity Care says she will be watching to see if Cork University Maternity Hospital lift the restrictions around emergency presentations for pregnant women.

Linda Kelly''s comments after CUMH yesterday lifted visitor rules to allow partners attend early pregnancy scans, the 12 week scan, the anatomy scan and when the patient is in labour.

They're also allowed stay in the post delivery ward with the mother for an hour, while visiting is not restricted from 7am to 11pm daily.

Both parents can freely attend the neo-natal unit seperately, and the high dependency unit has no restrictions.

However speaking to RedFM News Linda Kelly of Better Maternity Care says CUMH needs to comply with the national guidelines.

"Since the middle of the summer CUMH should be facilitating partners for emergency presentations for partners, and they haven't.

"We would call on them as they continue to review their restrictions to really ensure compliance with every aspect of the national guidelines."
