A Cork cancer charity is challenging people to run, jog or walk the equivalent of a marathon before the end of the month.
Breakthrough Cancer Research is asking people to get creative with the challenge and say laps of the garden or treks up and down the stairs count towards the daily 2km goal.
It's hoped 2,000 people will sign up for the The Race that Nearly Wasn't.
Lucy Fahy is an Ovarian Cancer survivor from Drimoleague who had to postpone a charity walk from West Cork to Dublin when she got as far as Tipperary.
She told RedFM News that routine is important at a time like this.
"It's about people being active during the lockdown, and people supporting charities in a time when they're not being supported.
"It's 2km per day for 20 days - you can do that around your garden or within the 2km radius of your house.
"If you're cocooning it can be within your house, whatever space you have that is 2km per day.
"You can record it through an app that Breakthrough Cancer has launched."
