The National Bus and Rail Union says capacity on buses has gone from 90 people down to just 17 under current measures.

NBRU recommendations to an Oireachtas committee, as restrictions are eased, also include making passengers wear face masks.

The union's General Secretary Dermot O'Leary, says capacity is likely to remain severely restricted on transport services for the foreseeable future.
