Some of Ireland’s leading tour operators are calling on the government to outline when the 2-week self-isolation period for travellers will cease.
The Inbound Tour Operators Association wants the government to ease or remove the 2-week quarantine rule for travellers from overseas countries as soon as possible.
Their president Rob Rankin says they need clarity.
"We are looking to have the quarantine lifted as soon as it's safe.
"As much as anything we need clarity, because we need to be able communicate that to our customers, either consumers or trade partners around the world.
"We don't want to go backwards - we would like to see it lifted as soon as it can be, a fixed date is what we really need."
