Opening up the streets of the city will be a vital part of getting business up and running again.

That's according to Claire Nash of Nash 19 who is one of the traders calling for Princes Street to be pedestrianised at certain times to allow for outdoor seating.

Traders on the street say re-opening their businesses with reduced seating capacity would not be viable in the long term and have submitted a proposal to City Hall for the street to be closed to traffic.

Speaking to RedFM News, Claire Nash outlines the concerns of traders on the street.

"If you only have half your seats when you're down to 50% trading anyway, and after that you won't get that rush of people - I don't think people will want to come in my door the way they did come in my door - they won't want to queue.

"But we will have nice formal seating outside, we will have nice tables and chairs, and it is vital for us we feel to just get people used to coming back into the city, used to eating in our establishments."
