Calls for all Ireland approach to tackle coronavirus

The author of the report into the Cervical Check controversy is concerned about the different approaches to the coronavirus north and south of the border.

Latest stats show Cavan has the highest number of Covid cases per 100 thousand of the population while Monaghan has the second.

There are now over 19,600 confirmed cases of confirmed cases nationwide and 1,102 people have died.

Dr Gabriel Scally says an All-Ireland approach is needed to tackle the virus.

"I think it really really is important that all politicians, that all those engage in discussing this can leave aside their long held and deeply held principles and do the right thing.

"IF we're going to get on top of this and we're going to save lives it bust be done on an all Ireland basis, it has to be - there's no way around that."
