"A nightmare scenario". That's how the chairman of the Cork City Vintners Federation Michael O'Donovan has described the Government's decision to move the country to Level 3.

He says the move is the worst possible news for the pub sector families, staff and customers who are all severely affected by the move.

Many publicans are already warning that they will not be able to run a sustainable business as indoor sittings will be be banned for three weeks and say it will force them to close their doors for the duration of the Level 3 restrictions.

They're calling for urgent financial supports to help them to survive  as they say it will be extremely difficult to operate an outdoor service in the month of October.

Speaking to RedFM News Michael O'Donovan says many pubs are facing closure again just two weeks after they managed to open their doors.
