Michael O'Donovan was speaking in the wake of the Government moving the country to Level 3 restrictions

The Chairman of the Cork City Vintners Federation and the owner of the Castle Inn in the city says he has yet to make a decision on whether or not he will shut his doors for three weeks at midnight tonight

Michael O'Donovan says the Level 3 Covid-19 restrictions are so restrictive that for him and many other publicans it will be difficult to keep going unless they're thrown a financial lifeline by the Government

Publicans are calling for urgent financial supports to help them to survive as running an outdoor service in the month of October for just 15 customers will be extremely difficult

The VFI is already warning that the Level 3 restrictions is putting 50,000 jobs in the sector at the risk and say the uncertainty they're facing adds to the stress of running a business

Speaking to RedFM News Michael O'Donovan says the Government announcement has effectively shut down the hospitality sector and at this stage he is undecided about opening his pub for the next 3 weeks
