Changes to the isolation rules on close contacts take effect from midnight tonight.
It will see thousands of people who've received a booster able to avoid having to self-isolate, if they don't have symptoms.
However they'll be required to take antigen tests and wear a high-grade mask.
It comes as a further 20,909 case of Covid-19 were confirmed here yesterday.
Meanwhile the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation says it's concerned changes to close contact rules will increase the spread of the virus.
Spokesperson, Tony Fitzpatrick, says now's not the right time to reduce public health protections.
"We have over 1,000 people in hospital with Covid-19, and utmost be remembered that all non urgent care is cancelled.
"On top of that, we have 350 people on trolleys trying to get a hospital bed, we have 15,000 staff absent.
"We think it's the wrong time to reduce any of the public health protections that are in place, and we are gravely concerned that it wall have an impact on increasing the spread of Omicron and Covid-19."
