Patrick St has been dealt another blow in the wake of the COVID19 outbreak as Clarks shoe store has announced its closure.
In a statement the company say that, after careful consideration, they have decided to no longer trade on the city's main street.
It follows the withdrawal of stores like Debenhams, Monsoon, Oasis and Warehouse from Patrick St.
It comes after comments by Cork Debenhams workers to RedFM News this week that they will avoid seeking employment in the retail sector in Cork in the future.
The retail outlet announced the closure of its Irish stores in recent months and workers have been staging demonstrations outside the stores since, calling for redundancy payment.
