The Chief Medical Officer has told the Government there's no need to reintroduce Covid restrictions.
It's despite case numbers being above 20,000 in recent days - and hospitalisations rising.
The HSE's Chief Clinical Officer says the high infection rates are causing serious disruption to the health system.
However Dr Colm Henry says the situation would be much starker without vaccination.
"Of the over 1,400 patients who are testing positive for Covid in hospitals, 35% are not vaccinated, and that contrasts to about 5% of the adult population.
"About half of those are sick with Covid, and of those over half are not boosted - so the message I have is to get boosted."
