Co-op leaders have pledged to work together as a sector to ensure the continuation of operations during the Covid-19 outbreak.
The Irish Co-operative Organisation Society Ltd. says huge efforts are being made at co-ops to ensure social distancing and to protect the health of all stakeholders.
The ICOS say during a board meeting today the importance of co-ops staying open during the crisis was highlighted to ensure the economy keeps working and to ensure that the supply chains within the food industry can continue to operate.
