Hoteliers say that under the current guidelines it's not possible to book a meal for more than six people, hold meetings or make any substantial profit from a wedding.

That's how the head of a Cork tourism body has described the restrictions in place on hotels who are heading into the Winter season with the prospect of very little tourism and very few functions.

It comes amid estimations of up to 120,000 job losses in the hospitality sector in the coming weeks.
