There is likely to be a number of smaller Catholic confirmation ceremonies, rather than one large gathering when they resume.
That's the view of the Church's most senior figure in Dublin.
Confirmations are set to resume in August, however, Archbishop Diarmuid Martin says they will not be like celebrations of the past.
"We're not going to have the big confirmation ceremony, overflowing churches overflowing with parents and grandparents and so on.
"One Dublin parish last year had 190 for a confirmation, it was a big church though and it could be done.
"What will have to happen is you'll have to have very small numbers.
"If a church can take 1,600, it'll be reduced to 100."
