The HSE says contact-tracing of Covid-19 cases is 90 per cent complete in most meat factories.
More than 1,000 staff in meat plants have tested positive for the virus.
The Health Minister told the Dáil last night only 60 to 70 per cent of their contacts had been traced.
But Dr Mai Mannix, from the HSE, insists the situation is a little better than that.
"The information I have from speaking with my colleagues across the country is that this is about 90% complete in most instances - there was one estimate where it was 60-70%"
