Convenience stores are struggling to retain workers because of the Covid-19 payment.

That’s according to the chief executive of the Convenience Stores and Newsagents Association.

Vincent Jennings say the 350 euro coronavirus payment is more than what many part-time workers usually earn.

"It is a disincentive to work, and this is what the economy will need it will need people to come back into work."
