Cork Cancer Charity: New Treatment For Skin Cancer Could Be Available Later This Year

Breakthrough Cancer Research announced the news as they launch a national awareness campaign to warn about the importance of protecting against UV damage.

The number of skin cancer cases in Ireland have doubled in the last decade and continue to rise, while Ireland has the highest mortality rate from melanoma in Europe.

It's hoped the new treatment which involves replacing chemotherapy with calcium will be trialled in Cork as early as November
