The latest Local Electoral Area data shows that infection rates have doubled from 111.2 cases per 100,000 population in Cork City South Central last week to 240.5 cases per 100,000 population this week.
The number of infection rates across Cork have risen significantly with nearly 40% of local areas having infection rates above the national average.
However the figures show that towns such as Kanturk and Bantry are almost virus-free, with less than five cases detected in the two-week period, ranking them among a small number of areas with the lowest possible infection rate.
