A Cork firm has taken steps to ensure the lights at Pieta House's premises in the city will remain on all year after the cancellation of its flagship 'Darkness into Light' fundraising appeal.
Carrigaline based Solo Energy will cover the charity's entire energy bill for the rest of the year at its Shanakiel premises.
On May 9th it was expected that over 250,000 people would have come together on every continent to walk together highlighting the fight against suicide and self-harm.
Since this cannot now take place, a Darkness Into Light ‘Sunrise’ appeal has been organised where people are being urged to get up at 5.30am and watch the sunrise.
