A Cork flower grower says people taking daffodil bulbs from his field are overstepping the boundary.

Brian Perrott from West Cork Daffodils is asking the public to stay out of his fields in Bandon after a recent increase in the number of people taking entire flowers.

Demand for flowers has dried up during the current restrictions, however Brian allowed people to take flowers from the field if they made a donation to the Irish Cancer Society.

Speaking to RedFM News, Brian Perrott says people taking bulbs are hurting his business.

"I started to get phonecalls last weekend to say that people were taking more than they needed, I still had no problem with that.

"But it was actually yesterday when I was just checking the flowers I noticed some people were digging up bulbs around the place, that really annoyed me that people were beginning to take bulbs.

"We lost all our sales about a month ago - any contracts for buying that we had, all our sales were lost."
