The people who built this country should be given top priority, according to the owner of a Cork nursing home.
Diarmuid O'Dálaigh from the Oaklodge Nursing Home in Cloyne was speaking as calls intensify for more to be done to protect nursing home residents after a facility in Dublin reported eleven Covid-19 related deaths over the past two weeks.
The HSE say the majority of the country's 425 clusters are in nursing home settings and around half of all covid deaths have been in care settings.
There have been no cases of Covid-19 at Oaklodge Nursing Home, which is launched a recruitment drive for 40 temporary staff.
