Cork Oncology Consultant: Actions Of The Public Will Dictate How Fast Coronavirus Will Spread

Dr Richard Bambury was speaking following the confirmation that there are now 34 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the country.

Outpatient appointments are being reduced and rescheduled for the rest of the week however a number of clinics such as Hepatology, Gastroenterology and all regional cancer centre appointments will operate as normal.

The hospital's management team are meeting on a daily basis to review the situation and are advising people to contact their GP or SouthDoc by phone in the first instance and to avoid presenting at the Emergency Department unless their needs are urgent.

Speaking to RedFM News, Dr Richard Bambury says the public have a huge role to play in decreasing the spread of the virus:
