Cork Pub owners say they are planning for the full reopening of their industry on October 22nd as they are relying on it for survival

Michael Farrell who owns Farrell's Summerfield bar in Youghal says some pubs are only remaining open as they are living off their savings and the Government pandemic supports

He says concerns have been expressed that up to 20% of the country's 7,000 pubs will go out of business by year end with many others facing tough financial decisions on the future of their business once government supports are lifted next March

Current restrictions mean service is restricted to tables with a maximum of six adults and there are no bar stools and all pubs and restaurants have to be cleared of customers by 11.30pm.
