A Cork scientific research company is hoping to produce a breath test for Covid-19.
The Irish Examiner reports Deepverge plans to test 5,000 of the devices over the next two months before production starts.
The unit will will cost around €75 and uses artificial intelligence and nanochips to detect the presence of Covid-19.
The company are currently running tests in a lab in Scotland and will then carry out field trials with frontline workers and factory workers in the UK.
Deepverge hope to have the product on the market early in the new year.
