Cork Taxi Drivers Say Their Livelihoods Are At Risk If Moratorium Isn't Placed On Issuing Of New Taxi Licenses

They say their positions will be further threatened

Drivers in the industry here in Cork say their business has been decimated as a result of the COVID19 outbreak with very little nightlife, international tourism and airport departures and arrivals.

Concerns are now mounting that an increase in taxi drivers in the city will further threaten those who say they're already struggling to secure fares.

Speaking to RedFM News Cork representative of the Irish Taxi Drivers Federation Derry Coughlan says the existing drivers need to be protected:
